Flat bonding power offsets restoring forces.

New reactive PUR hot melt adhesives for flat lamination round off the adhesives programme of Jowat in the high-end segment.

Detmold, March 24, 2015.- The new reactive Jowatherm-Reaktant® PUR hot melt adhesives for flat lamination resist even the highest restoring forces exerted on a bondline.

Reactive PUR adhesives are the high-performers among the adhesive systems. This applies especially for the new Jowatherm-Reaktant® PUR hot melts: Their processing characteristics were tailored for the high quality demands in flat lamination.

This provides advantages to the reactive Polyurethane hot melts of this group: a wide spectrum of adhesion on the most diverse substrates, also high initial and final strength data. The portfolio also covers adhesives with a variety of open times – adapted to the individual process times. The very high initial strength immediately after joining the adherends also allows a continuous manufacture, making the discontinuous, slower process largely obsolete. The quality of the end products of difficult-to-laminate materials with high restoring forces will profit from these processing characteristics, but they also provide a valuable input to productivity and process reliability.

The new Jowatherm-Reaktant® flat bonding adhesives are powerful PUR hot melts with convincing additional aspects like high heat resistance and good processing / running properties. They are also tested for low flame-spreading properties according to IMO standards (International Maritime Organization) and are certified with the wheelmark label for utilisation in shipbuilding interiors. This is the perfect response to the requirements in flat lamination for the furniture industry and interior finishing operations. All of these positive characteristics add up to allow utilisation of these adhesives even for the high end sector, supporting efficient processing and in consequence create additional value.
