Jowat AG at the Filtech Strong performance record: New adhesives for the filter manufacture

Detmold.- Jowat AG, one of the leading suppliers of adhesives for industry and trade, is presenting its latest adhesive developments for the filter assembly at the Filtech 2013. The focus in Wiesbaden is on the portfolio of powerful adhesives for all steps in the manufacturing process of passenger compartments and air filters for vehicles.

The efficient manufacture of filter systems requires modern adhesives that are tailored to fit the diverse manufacturing steps of lamination, pleating and frame assembly. Additionally, they need to provide an increased capacity of performance for the filter media and facilitate efficiency of the entire production process.

Lamination of filter media made with activated charcoal

In the lamination process of filter media with activated charcoal, the new Jowat-Toptherm® and Jowatherm Reaktant® adhesives guarantee highest performance with the lowest adhesive grammages. This ensures that the surface of activated charcoal can remain as large as possible, keeping any loss in air permeability to a minimum. The open time of the adhesives is adapted to the process intervals in the coating steps of the filter fleece material with the activated charcoal. The positive result is increased application efficiency during the manufacturing process, accompanied by an improved performance of the product - the filter action itself.

Pleating and filter frame bonding

The adhesives from the group of Jowat-Hightherm® are especially used for pleating due to their excellent adhesion properties on paper and fleece; their good mechanical processing characteristics make these adhesives highly suitable for the assembly bonding of filter frames. They keep the filters in shape and also ensure flexibility throughout the entire life of the filter even when the material compound is exposed to mechanical stress or high temperatures.
