Top, when things get really hot.

Jowat-Toptherm® 256.65 – hot melt adhesive specialist for hot filling.

Detmold, December 16, 2014. - The range of Jowat-Toptherm® hot melt adhesives has been complemented by a specialist for the packaging industry, specifically for hot filling processes.

The new Jowat-Toptherm® 256.65 was conceived for the bonding of “end-of-line“ packaging. Whether folding boxes, wrap-around packaging or tray assembly - this adhesive has a huge variety of possible applications. Its strongest advantage, however, is the high heat resistance, a characteristic most effective when used for hot filling processes and for products later to be shipped in not temperature controlled containers, or intended for sales in countries with tropical climates.

Quite a few outstanding features must be present to qualify an adhesive as real specialist. The end-of-line bonding for packaging units containing hot filled products must meet superior requirements: extremely good resistance to oxidation and colour stability in the melt, a wide thermal processing range from 140 to 170 degrees Celsius, a corresponding level of viscosity which permits optimum flow to fully match the necessary application performance, and also a very short setting time. These processing parameters are the key factors that packages remain closed not only when the content is filled in while hot. The bond also must withstand the entrapped heat persisting over an extended time in the core of these stacked pallets during transport and warehousing

The new Jowat-Toptherm® is a polyolefin hot melt on metallocene technology basis and – like many Jowat-Toptherm® products – it is suitable for processing on melt units of the latest generation with automatic filling systems and reduced tank volumes.
