Sustainable Growth with Jowatherm® GROW
Jowatherm® GROW marks a milestone in the development of hot melt adhesives based on renewable raw materials. Never before have cleaner and more efficient Jowat® products with such a high bio-based content been available. The modern hot melt adhesives save resources, not only due to the formulations with biological components, and facilitate recyclable bonds according to the German packaging law.
Jowatherm® GROW 853.20
The sustainability of this adhesive has been verified and it has been awarded the DIN-tested biobased 20 – 50 % certification mark. In addition to its high content of renewable raw materials, the adhesive provides further benefits that make it particularly environmentally friendly. The lower processing temperature facilitates a significant reduction in energy consumption, therefore helping in the conservation of resources and the optimisation of the working environment. Jowatherm® GROW 853.20 is also characterised by very low stringing and clean adhesive cut-off, which prevents the waste of adhesive and the soiling of packaging and machine parts.
Jowatherm® GROW 853.22
The very high content of renewable raw materials of more than 50%, makes this modern packaging hot melt adhesive ideal for companies that want to avoid the use of fossil-based raw materials as far as possible.
Jowatherm® GROW 853.22 provides a wide range of adhesion that facilitates a reliable bonding of difficult surfaces, for example coated material surfaces. In addition, its high flexibility at low temperatures benefits deep-freeze applications.

✓ Jowatherm® GROW – A Holistic Approach to Sustainability
- Use of resins made from by-products of paper manufacturing and therefore do not compete with the food sector.
- Only pine wood from forests managed according to strict guidelines is used.
- The hot melt adhesives are manufactured by Jowat in its plant in Detmold, which is certified according to ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 50001 (Energy Management) and ISO 9001 (Quality Management).
- The adhesives of course fulfil the requirements of FDA 175.105 and EU 10/2011 for food packaging.
