R&D Laboratory Technicians are responsible for laboratory-based tasks, which include sampling, testing, measuring, recording and analyzing results in the preparation of adhesives. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Starting Pay range based on experience from $17 to $20 an hour.


  • Research and Development

    • Work with the R&D Chemist on the execution of various experimental projects in a timely fashion.
    • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on analytical equipment as required.
    • Maintain departmental and individual lab notebooks, tabulate and organize data, keep records, write reports.
    • Maintain inventory and safe storage of laboratory chemicals.
    • Carry out physical test on samples for customers or internally according to standard procedures.
    • Maintain the R&D Lab and related equipment.
    • Assist in the preparation of samples in amounts of desired materials requested by Chemist.
    • Using the internet, and in-house journals, maintain a current awareness of new trends in chemistry.

  • Product Formulation

    • Works closely with the assigned Chemist to assist in conducting tests to evaluate benefits and claims for products.
    • Prepare adhesive samples internally and for customers
    • Continue to develop expertise in the field of adhesive chemistry.
    • Read and follow trends in the trade literature

  • General Duties:

    • Maintain lab tasks, general housekeeping and preventative maintenance records
    • Maintain safe work environment in accordance with organization’s safety plan.
    • Maintain woodworking, mixing equipment and sample preparation area.
    • Maintain materials for the lab: wood, edgebanding and raw material


  • Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field.
  • Knowledge of SAP (preferred).
  • Knowledge of general chemistry, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and organic chemistry or equivalent experience is preferred. Knowledge of basic scientific principles and general laboratory methods.
