Due to the size of filters used in building ventilation systems, even smaller filter media manufacturing lines need relatively large amounts of adhesive. To keep down production costs, manufacturers often settle for a compromise solution in the bonding process. But what might look like a cost advantage at first, nearly always leads to considerable additional maintenance costs, longer downtimes or a loss in quality caused for instance by increased charring in the melter tank or hoses, soiled cutter blades, failing bondlines or untight filter bags. Moreover, adhesives of lower quality usually fail to provide the flexibility or adhesion to the substrates necessary in the manufacture of filters.
Jowat, the adhesives specialist from Detmold, will be showcasing a newly developed hot melt adhesive from its Jowatherm® range at this year’s FILTECH, hoping to convince processors to permanently change to optimum adhesives in pleating applications. The new adhesive is entering the market with an outstanding price-performance ratio due to a special raw material combination. At the same time, it provides the top performance known from Jowat in filter bonding – very good adhesion to all relevant substrates, an open time optimised for the process and excellent handling strength. It can be processed at relatively low temperatures already and therefore facilitates substantial improvements in processing speed and energy balance.
For 100 years, the adhesives specialist from Detmold has successfully been building on a convincing product diversity, in-depth understanding of the industry customers operate in, as well as a comprehensive service in all aspects of bonding. In addition, Jowat impresses with close customer contact and a high reliability in the supply chain due to the global production of the pleating adhesive in the enterprise’s own manufacturing locations in America, Asia and Europe. Therefore, the package offered by Jowat is extremely attractive both in terms of quality and cost efficiency.
You can find Jowat at FILTECH in Cologne from 22 to 24 October in hall 11.1, booth B12 under the anniversary banner “Our word is our bond. Since 1919”.
