Product Description

Jowacoll® 102.50 and the crosslinking agent Jowat® 195.60 form a two-component EPI system (emulsion polymerized isocyanate) which provides high-strength and durable bonding results. This dispersion adhesive facilitates the manufacturing of reliable and permanent bonded assemblies also under extreme weathering conditions. Its resistance to water as well as to dry heat is of special significance in this regard and has been demonstrated by the high strength data achieved in tests according to the standards EN 204 and EN 14257.

The range of wood species which can be bonded with this adhesive is therefore virtually unlimited. In addition, Jowacoll® 102.50 dries fast and ensures short setting times when bonding wood species with low moisture absorption capacity. Another application in which Jowacoll® 102.50 impresses is the gluing of molded parts. The very hard bondline can withstand high tension forces and helps maintain the shape of the assembly.

Application Description

Copolymer dispersion for bonding hard wood species (e.g. oak, beech), species with high resin content (e.g. pine), tropical wood species (e.g. teak, meranti), wood with moisture content up to 15 %, as well as chemically (e.g. Accoya®) and thermally treated wood. For assemblies exposed to direct weathering, with adequate surface protection, e.g. for window scantlings, formwork panels, doors, outside furniture, furniture for moist environments, parquet manufacturing, sandwich elements and window manufacturing.

Product Features

✓ Especially for Bonding:

  • treated wood such as Accoya® or thermally treated wood
  • hardwood and wood with high resin content
  • tropical wood species, e.g. teak and meranti
  • wood with increased moisture content of up to 15%
  • gluing of molded parts
  • bonding for outdoor applications with appro-priate surface protection
Durability Class: D4

Classification According to EN 204

The tensile strength of Jowacoll Five Star 102.49 is considerably higher than the requirement for the D4 durability class (according to EN 204).

Bond strength: 10,7 N/mm²

Bond strength acc. to EN 14257 (WATT 91)

The tensile strength results of the heat resistance tests according to EN 14257 (Watt 91) at 80 °C are >10 N/mm². The results are therefore better than the recommended value of only >7 N/mm² for window scantling manufacturing.
