Information about the Certification ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®

A selected range of Jowat adhesives for applications in the textile industry have undergone careful testing by the Hohenstein Institute of Research and fulfill the strict requirements for the ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®.

ECO PASSPORT is a certification system for chemicals, colorants and auxiliaries which verifies the human-ecological safety of textiles. Thereby, it facilitates the choice of e.g. suitable adhesives for products manufactured in accordance with the OEKO-TEX® guidelines and which meet STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a globally harmonized testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediates and end products (textile products of all processing stages), which guarantees to the consumer that the textile does not contain harmful substances above binding limits and that compliance with the limits is being verified by an authorized testing laboratory. Textile products are only allowed to carry this label if all its components meet the OEKO-TEX® requirements applicable. There are four different product classes based on the intended use of the textile. The more intensive the skin contact of a product and the more sensitive the skin of the corresponding target group, the stricter are the tests for harmful substances and therefore the limits which must be complied with. All tested Jowat adhesives can be used for the manufacture of textiles in the category with the highest requirements (product class 1).
