In fact, “international mobility of employees” implies much more of all parties involved than just being appointed to work in an area outside the jurisdiction of local tax laws and social insurances. Nils Günther, legal advisor at Jowat SE and responsible for questions about Law and Human Resources, and Matthias Boberg, Manager Human Resources, explain how a globally active employer like Jo- wat is dealing with this topic. Editor: Mr Günther, let us start by explaining how inter- national Jowat really is at this point. Günther: I am pleased to say that Jowat is constantly growing on an international level as well. At this point, we are active on almost all continents. Apart from the two German production sites in Detmold and Elsteraue, Jowat has four additional production companies: Jowat Corporation in USA, Jowat Swiss AG in Switzerland, Jowat Manufacturing in Malaysia and Jowat Universal Adhesives Australia Pty. Ltd. in Australia. With around 1,000 employees, Jowat is manufacturing over 73,000 tonnes of adhesive per year. Additionally, we have a global sales structure with 20 Jowat sales organisations, like the recently established companies in Colombia and Chile.
