Connected to Jowat Wolfgang Rasser, Sales Representative Although Wolfgang Rasser already took his well-earned retirement, he still feels closely connected to Jowat after being a sales representative for 29 fulfilling years in the company – and Jowat still needs him. Wofgang Rasser is active as consultant, supports new employees and fills in for other sales representati- ves in case of short-term absence. “I always worked together with helpful colleagues. Now I can help others in re- turn.” Working together with customers in a goal-oriented manner to find solu- tions for continuously arising adhesive and bonding issues, was a particularly interesting aspect of his long career, for the woodworking, REFA and safety technician. “To me, being able to pass on the vast amount of experience from over 30 working years to others, accom- panied with the pleasant feeling of still being needed, is something really speci- al,” states Rasser. 22 Using the power of the brand Dr M.-Oliver Zomer, Marketing Director With Dr M. Oliver Zomer Jowat did not only gain a new employee, but also a complete new position in November 2014: Director of Marketing. As gradua- ted economist with several years of ex- perience in global marketing, Dr Zomer is in charge of brand management, in- ternational market communication and strategic marketing – always in close collaboration with the Product Manage- ment”. “The ongoing promotion of the Jowat brand in diverse target sectors in a variety of countries with different de- grees of brand recognition is a particular challenge,” states Dr M.-Oliver Zomer. “To achieve this, we intend to use the current power of the brand and consis- tently strengthen it further through ef- fective and well-focused communication measures.” 1,000th employee Nursolehah Binti Shahruddin, Chemical Laboratory Assistant When Nursolehah Binti Shahruddin began working at the production and development site in Malaysia in March 2015, Jowat had a reason to celebrate. The laboratory assistant became Jo- wat’s 1,000th employee worldwide. After graduating with a Bachelor degree in Biomolecular Chemistry, Nursolehah Binti Shahruddin worked for four years in research at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur. Now she is working together with colleagues from different departments at Jowat. “Developing the appropriate adhesive formulation out of the many different raw materials availa- ble and providing a solution for specific customer requirements is very exciting,” states Nursolehah. “At Jowat I have the opportunity to contribute my ideas and knowledge in the laboratory and to find them reflected in the products.” Jowat Inside Jowat in figures Production Solvent-based adhesives Polymerisation Dispersion adhesives Hot melt adhesives T 5,000 T 7,000 T 13,000 T 48,000 Sales Employees € 260 m 1,000 Sales by industry approx. 55 % approx. 30 % approx. 15 % Wood, Furniture, and Construction Automotive, Textile, and Electrical Paper and Packaging
