Strategic vision, innovative strength, a sustainable leadership culture and good corporate management – these are the fields in which enterprises competing for the Axia Best Managed Company Award must excel. They are benchmarked in a thorough, multi-stage process, after which the winners are selected by a jury of renowned representatives from business, science and the media. Jowat SE from Detmold has received the coveted award for the second time in a row.
“The Best Managed Company Award recognises companies from the German Mittelstand that are exemplary for what is rightfully referred to as the backbone of the economy. Even in extraordinary times, enterprises like Jowat not only weather the pressure, but also flourish. They open a path to the future in times of crisis by recognising the increased urgency of new developments such as digitalisation and sustainability and implementing them in a way useful for society,” explains Mischa Tschopp, Market Group Head Germany and Austria International at Credit Suisse.
The Axia Best Managed Companies (BMC) program is a competition organised by Deloitte Private, WirtschaftsWoche, Credit Suisse and the Federation of German Industries (BDI) in Germany and a hallmark of excellence for successful companies from Germany’s Mittelstand. The vision: Building a national and global ecosystem of outstandingly managed Mittelstand enterprises. The international orientation is a unique characteristic of BMC. The BMC program was established in the 1990s by Deloitte in Canada and has since been launched successfully in more than 30 countries.
