Filters in top shape: Jowatherm® and Jowat-Hightherm® for pleating and frame bonding

Detmold.- Jowat AG, the international manufacturer of adhesives for all industrial sectors, is presenting new products for bonding applications with sealing and forming properties: Jowatherm® and Jowat-Hightherm®.

The pleating processes of filter media and the subsequent filter frame assembly demand adhesives which make manufacturing processes efficient, keep the filters permanently in shape, and also withstand the high mechanical and thermal stresses.

Pleating: The new Jowatherm® and Jowat-Hightherm® adhesives support the high-speed manufacturing processes of pleating by their variable open times adapted to the specific line speed, and a high green strength facilitating immediate handling. This allows downline processing of the pleated filter media without intermediate storage. In addition, both Jowatherm® and Jowat-Hightherm® adhesives have a wide spectrum of adhesion and allow secure bonding of substrates of paper, fleece and other materials like Nano-fibres. The universal range of applications reduces setup times in production. Jowatherm® and Jowat-Hightherm® adhesives keep the filter media in shape and are responsible to a large extent for the long life of the filter elements.

Bonding of filter frames:The demands on the bonding of frames for air filters with regard to temperature resistance and flexible deformation performance are very high, for instance when used in the engine compartment. The increasingly compact construction of engines frequently results in heavy deformation of the air filters when these are exchanged. The frame assembly must withstand this mechanical stress. Jowatherm® and Jowat-Hightherm® adhesives are outstanding due to their good thermal stability and high deformation resistance. This prevents cracks in the bondline and the filter pockets remain tightly sealed.
The hot melt adhesives Jowatherm® and Jowat-Hightherm® are highly flexible and reliable in processing, ensuring the assembly of air filter elements of superior quality, which supports the efficient combustion process of the engine.
