Jowatherm-Reaktant^® 609.40

Jowatherm-Reaktant^® 609.40 is a modern PUR hot melt adhesive for the flat lamination of furniture and interior finishing products. This powerful adhesive is characterized by high initial tack and a short open time as well as by a very smooth application pattern. Therefore, it is ideal for laminating wood-based materials with high-gloss foils.
Depth is the most important quality hallmark in high-gloss lamination, and the application pattern of the adhesive is crucial to facilitating an attractive depth effect. Jowatherm-Reaktant^® 609.40 achieves an impressive surface smoothness due to specially adapted rheological properties - i.e. the flow behavior has been optimized with a special focus on this exact quality criteria.

However, the adhesive provides attractive benefits not only in high-gloss applications. Due to its high surface smoothness, this high-performance adhesive facilitates superior results in other laminating processes, too. An additional bonus is the very low processin temperature compared with other hot melt adhesives which, in some cases, require temperatures of more than 170°C. Jowatherm-Reaktant^® 609.40 has been specially developed for low-temp applications and can be processed at temperatures starting in the range from 100°C to 120°C. Thereby, laminating adhesives with low processing temperatures can considerably reduce energy consumption, bring down costs and, at the same time, provide an important contribution to the protection of the environment.

Jowatherm-Reaktant^® 609.40 is a PUR assembly adhesive with outstanding stability in the melt and high initial strength. Chemical crosslinking of the adhesive takes place within 1 to 3 days depending on ambient conditions, i.e. temperature, humidity and material moisture.
