The Jowat Group has hired its 1,000th employee and is continuing its international expansion

Detmold, May 19, 2015 – The number of employees of the Jowat Group has passed the 1,000 milestone in March 2015. For the medium-sized family-owned company with headquarters in Detmold, this is a landmark on its international course of expansion, strengthening the production and development sites located around the globe, and also the 20 international sales subsidiaries. Among the 1,000 employees worldwide, almost 450 are already working outside of Germany today.

In 1919, Johannes Watzlawczik, founded the company in Breslau, setting up a wholesale business. Over almost 100 years of corporate history, a large number of highly committed staff members have provided their input to develop, manufacture and market innovative adhesives. This alone made Jowat one of the leading global adhesive manufacturers with dynamic growth perspectives.

“The success of Jowat as entrepreneur is mainly based on the people who contribute their competence and experience in our daily work. Our employees are therefore our largest capital“, states Ralf Nitschke, Director on the Board of Jowat SE for finances, Human Resources and production.

Jowat SE as family-owned company is emphasizing a corporate philosophy based on partnership and openness, while at the same time promoting performance and providing scope for individual creativity. In this context, the ongoing qualification of the team of employees is a top consideration. Other measures are to raise the health level of staff and to make work and family more compatible.

The 1,000th employee of Jowat is called Nursolehah Binti Shahruddin and is employed as Chemical Laboratory Assistant at the production and development site of Jowat in Malaysia. After graduating with a Bachelor degree with focus on Biomolecular Chemistry, she worked for four years in research at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur.

Due to the continuously increasing globalisation of business activities at Jowat, the global recruiting and staff development of specialised industrial and management level employees has become daily practice. There are numerous examples to prove that talented and motivated newcomers are supported individually and can follow their national and international professional careers.
