Here in Detmold, we have already seen how successful a three-person team can be in tackling the various areas of focus involved in running an enterprise. The Jowat Corporation in North America is following this model, with three new managing directors in charge of the areas that best suit their respective strengths.
Achim Becker joined the Jowat Corporation as IT Manager in 2000. His main tasks in this role includes the implementation and adaptation of SAP at Jowat’s locations in the Americas. He began gaining management experience in 2011 as managing director at Jowat de Mexico, and also as vice president for Controlling & IT at the Jowat Corporation. His new responsibilities as chief officer lie in Finance, IT and Production. Of the three new managing directors, Gerhard Haas has been with Jowat for the longest. He has been acting as an overseas representative for the adhesives manufacturer since 1989—initially as technical director, then later in other roles, such as vice president of Manufacturing and R&D. As chief officer for Human Resources, Purchasing, Quality Management, R&D and Technical Service, he will now continue to pursue these areas of focus at the highest level.
Marco Kubitza began preparing for his role in North America in 1995, taking up his first position there in 1996. He has been key in Jowat’s success in the region ever since, particularly at sites in Canada and Colombia. Now that he has been promoted to chief officer for Sales & Marketing, his previous position as vice president of Sales will now be filled by John Elder. Mr. Elder has been with Jowat Corporation since 1997, initially as a representative and manager for sales in the Northeast USA. He stepped into his new role in the summer of 2021. “John’s years of experience and ability to exceed our customers’ expectations have without a doubt played a key role in our successful growth in the USA,” says Marco Kubitza. “He has proven a valued and dedicated member of our team, and we are delighted to support him in his position as head of our US Sales team.”
