05 knowledge institutions, SDSN Germany wants to contribute to the rollout of sustainable development across the entire field of German politics, economics and the society. Rethink global development, new and different – preliminary planning on the national as well as on the global scale is already in high gear. The German Federal Government is stating clearly that it intends to translate global targets into specific goals for sustainable development, in Germany and by Germany. On an international level, different actors from politics, economy and society have come up with suggestions for the new catalogue of goals. A draft containing 17 defined targets has now been proposed officially to the United Nations. Parallel to this and closely linked with the new sustainability agenda, preparations for the climate conference COP 21 in December in Paris are under way, which has as core goal to limit the global warming to less than 2 °C in a binding climate contract. The crucial factor in all of this is, however, whether after 2015, the global community will not only think differently, but also act differently. Only if the targets for sustainable development are really implemented by numerous non-government and state players can the global coexistence - within the natural limits tolerable for our RESOURCES ENVIRONMENTPROFITS SUSTAINABLE
